Donate a Daily Tweet for #OpSAFE at JustCoz.org

Retweet
Last week we started broadcasting a daily tweet on twitter that automatically relays through every account that signs up to donate a tweet a day.  JustCoz.org explains it like this on their website.

It all started when we sat down and talked about ways in which people can donate their voices to causes they cared about and after some brainstorming, we arrived at the idea of JustCoz. JustCoz is a platform in development that enables people to donate a tweet a day to causes which they are passionate about.

We decided to create a relay network for potentially every charity, non-profit organization and NGO in the world  that will allow it to be heard beyond its social graph (which many times does not fully represent the magnitude of the audience supporting their cause) while we as a platform remain as unheard to the crowd and as transparent to the broadcaster as possible.

The way we see it, right now getting a message across to large audiences depends on too many circumstantial factors that we wanted to overcome.

Currently, we try to leverage twitter through the #opsafe tag, and the #opsafe twitter team.  But there are some disadvantages to this as people are in different timezones, have different schedules and are not all on at the same time.  By the time they have tuned in to twitter, the important #opsafe tweets have long since disappeared in their stream.  We have tried to DM those on the team with important tweets but as there is no way to send a DM to everyone it is a very tedious process. (This is not spam, as everyone on the team has opted-in and want to help)

So about a week ago I asked the team to donate a tweet a day and many jumped on the bandwagon!  The first daily donated tweet went out with just a few – I think less than 30 but it was very cool to see all those tweets go out at once!  Now only a week later, we are tweeting 576 strong with more donating tweets every day!  Justcoz.org calculates that these tweets reach over 730,000 unique accounts.  Amazing!

This is how these tweets show up in the twitter trends – for sure we are nowhere near reaching global levels – but it gives you an idea of what a huge difference in awareness the donated tweets are making.

Donating a tweet is easy (just a click) and free and you can cancel at any time by revisiting justcoz.org. Join us in lending your voice to the children who have none.

I asked to be unsubscribed from the daily tweet over a month ago. Please advise how I can do that as this is my business Twitter account. I am already doing a daily tweet on my personal Twitter. Thank you. My Twitter name is lynne_goldstein.
